Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius tests the all-new electric GLC
At the Mercedes-Benz Technology Center (MTC) in Sindelfingen, Germany, CEO Ola Källenius is testing the highly anticipated new Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ technology. In the latest YouTube video by Mercedes‑Benz, Ola Källenius gives an exclusive first look into the electrifying future of the best-selling model series. He puts the all-new electric GLC to the test with five challenges, previewing its distinctive design, versatile capabilities and smooth handling. In previous videos, Ola Källenius put the electric CLA and electric G-Class through its paces in the breathtaking landscapes of Austria and Sweden, offering viewers an exhilarating sneak peek ahead of each vehicles' world premiere. After conquering the rugged terrain of the Schöckl and showcasing the CLA's prowess in Immendingen last year, Ola Källenius reveals more details on the new electric GLC, which will be unveiled at Munich's IAA motor show on September 7, 2025.

Available with AIRMATIC air suspensiontechnology from flagship S-Class
The electric GLC sets new standards in this segment and offers a new level ride comfort. The optionally available Agility & Comfort Package includes AIRMATIC air suspension paired with rear-axle steering, offering up to 4.5 degrees of steering angle in each direction. Be it on city streets or highways, the GLC offers outstanding stability, dynamic performance and highly agile handling. Thanks to the revolutionary air suspension technology from the Mercedes-Benz S‑Class, uneven road surfaces and imperfections are almost completely absorbed, ensuring a remarkably smooth ride. The integrated adjustable damping system, familiar from the S‑Class, provides the ideal combination of ride comfort and sporty handling.
More spacious and comfortable in every dimension
The new GLC is the epitome of versatility, spaciousness and comfort, making it the perfect vehicle for everyday adventures. Building on the best qualities of the current GLC, the new generation electric model takes things up a notch with significantly more legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers. Its generous wheelbase, which is 3.1 inches longer compared to the current combustion engine-powered GLC, contributes to a spacious cabin and comfortable ride. The trunk provides a generous 20.1 cu ft of space, and when the rear seats are folded down, it expands to an impressive 61.4 cu ft. Additionally, the frunk (front trunk) provides an additional 4.5 cu ft of cargo space, accessible via touch control.
Charge approximately 260 km of range in ten minutes
The highlight of the new electric architecture is the 800-volt system. This advanced technology optimizes efficiency and performance, significantly reducing charging times when combined with the latest battery generation. In just ten minutes—about the time it takes to grab a coffee or check your emails—approximately 260 kilometers (WLTP) of range can be charged.1 DC fast charging at over 320 kW is possible. Country-specific, a DC converter enables the use of 400-volt charging stations.
Towing capacity up to 5,291 lb
The GLC 400 4MATIC with EQ technology – which launches first – features a towing capacity of up to 5,291 lbs (braked). The 220-lb tongue weight allows for the transport of electric bicycles among other gear on a suitable carrier. With ESP® trailer stabilization and trailer maneuvering assistant, the GLC offers particularly convenient and stable handling when towing.
