Expansion of the Sprinter WORKER lineup

Atlanta – Daimler Vans USA and Mercedes-Benz USA are pleased to announce the expansion of the Sprinter WORKER lineup to include additional chassis, engine and body configurations to better suit the needs of those in the contracting, delivery and transportation service industries. This expansion, beginning late 2016, comes on the heels of the Sprinter WORKER announcement at this year's Chicago Auto show in February. With a starting price of just $32,495,* the Sprinter WORKER offers the simplest and most straightforward equipment and packaging within the Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter Van model lines.

An expanded lineup for even greater capability

Since its launch in spring of this year, the Sprinter WORKER Cargo Van has been a price and value leader. Available from late 2016, the expanded WORKER lineup will now also include the popular 170" wheelbase and a high-roof Cargo Van model, offering up to 486.5 cubic feet of cargo space and an interior standing height of nearly 6.5-feet.

A 3.0-liter V6 BlueTEC turbo diesel engine will also be available on the Sprinter WORKER Cargo Van lineup.

Two available BlueTEC diesel engines for maximum efficiency and longevity

Time is money, and time spent at the gas pump is time that could be spent on the road or at the job site. The Sprinter WORKER is equipped as standard with a powerful and efficient 4-cylinder diesel engine paired with a class-exclusive 7G-TRONIC 7-speed transmission that helps stretch each gallon of diesel further. Based on over 300,000 miles of user-reported fuel economy on fuelly.com, this efficient engine and transmission combination is capable of well over 23 miles per gallon, even in high-roof, extended- wheelbase Sprinter 2500 applications.

Producing 161 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque (available at just 1,400 RPM), the Sprinter WORKER's 2.1-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine provides seamless power thanks to its two- stage turbocharger. This engine knows how to work hard, with a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs., and provides a maximum payload of 3,512 lbs.

New and optionally available on the Sprinter WORKER Cargo Van lineup is a 3.0-liter V6 BlueTEC turbo diesel engine paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. This engine, producing a mighty 188 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, boasts offset rod journals and a balancer shaft to ensure smooth, reliable operation.

The new Sprinter WORKER offers a simple packaging structure that meets the needs of our toughest customers, yet offers more standard equipment than other brands. The WORKER model offers maximum capability and customization potential for aftermarket van interiors and exteriors, all at an incredible starting price of just $32,495.

Standard equipment highlights includes a 4-speaker AM/FM radio with aux-input, USB interface and with Bluetooth® Telephone Interface and audio streaming, cabin partition preparation, class-leading 6 standard airbags, industry-exclusive Crosswind Assist Load- Adaptive Traction Control (ESP), and class-leading interior cargo volume.

A blank-canvas both inside and out

Available exclusively in white, the Sprinter WORKER models provide both small-business owners and fleet companies with an ideal canvas for signage, advertising and wrapping with graphics. With a total roof load capacity of 660 lbs. on the low-roof Sprinter and 330 lbs. on the high-roof, ladder racks and roof attachments can be added to the WORKER from any number of upfitters.

Inside, the WORKER's standard 319.1-cubic-feet of cargo volume provides ample room for racks, bins, shelves, cabinets and toolboxes. With a maximum of 486.5-cubic-feet of space in the Sprinter WORKER 170" model, there's now a Sprinter WORKER Cargo Van for every need. The standard steel floor can be left unfinished or can be customized with an optional wood floor or with any other floor covering of choice.

One place that doesn't need customization: the front passenger compartment. With power windows, A/C, tilting & telescoping steering wheel, five cup-holders, adjustable armrests, ample storage, and a standard 4-speaker audio system that boasts Bluetooth® telephone interface, wireless music streaming and an auxiliary port, the WORKER aims to make time on the road productive convenient and comfortable.

Best-in-class service intervals

The Sprinter WORKER has a best-in-class service interval of up to 20,000 miles. With an industry-leading service interval as long as this, the WORKER can spend more time on the road and less time in the shop. Sprinter WORKER Passenger Van designed for reliable and straightforward transportation

The Sprinter WORKER lineup will expand to include a passenger van with the introduction of the Sprinter WORKER Passenger. The ability to haul up to 12 passengers efficiently makes the WORKER passenger ideal for shuttle and transportation companies.

The paint options include standard white and optional black or silver metallic for the Sprinter WORKER Passenger Van. Additionally, the black steel wheels , rear seating for 10 passenger and rear A/C make the WORKER Passenger Van a no-nonsense choice all while exclusively offering the efficiency of the 2.1-liter, 4-cylinder, 7-speed powertrain.

The Sprinter WORKER Passenger Van comes with two packages:
