New MBUX generation for the most modern two-door vehicles with the star

E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet with a personal assistant on board

The latest generation of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system makes the E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet the best-networked dream cars in the Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG passenger-car portfolio as the newly redesigned models join the rest of the connected E-Class family. The unique multimedia system with the "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant learns continuously and assists the passengers through useful features such as reading the weather forecast - including the snow report for popular skiing areas - adjusting the cabin temperature, turning on heated seats or even letting you know the score for the game of your favorite sports team.

MBUX displays visual information on two large, 12.3 inch screens that merge into a widescreen cockpit under a common glass cover. The instrument cluster and media display are easy to read thanks to high-resolution screens, and the intuitive operating structure is just as easy to understand. Added to this are emotional presentations in the form of brilliant graphics.

Other highlights include touchscreen control of the media display and the use of the available augmented reality technology for the navigation display. A video image of the surroundings is enhanced with helpful navigation information: arrows or house numbers are automatically superimposed directly onto the image in the media display, for example. The system also assists the driver at traffic lights when the necessary infrastructure is in place. If the E-Class is the first car at the lights, the current traffic light situation is superimposed. This new function is particularly helpful when there is a poor line of sight to the traffic light or to see if a pedestrian is passing in front of the car.

The optional MBUX Interior Assistant allows intuitive, natural operation of various comfort and MBUX functions through movement recognition. For example, when a hand approaches the touchscreen or the touchpad on the center console, the media display changes, and individual elements are highlighted.

AMG specific displays and functions

The sporty character of the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Coupe and Cabriolet is reinforced by the additional AMG specific functions and displays. These include, for example, the visualization of the driving programs and telemetry data on the touchscreen multimedia display. In the instrument cluster, the driver can switch between three distinct display styles including "Supersport" mode, which is particularly striking, with a central, round tachometer and perspective horizontal displays to the left and right of the tachometer, creating an impression of depth. In addition, various special displays such as engine data, gear indicator, warm-up, setup, G-meter and race timer can be selected via the AMG menu.
