Mercedes-Benz USA Names Adam Chamberlain Vice President of Sales

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today announced the appointment of Adam Chamberlain to the position of vice president, sales, effective April 1, 2016.  Chamberlain replaces Dietmar Exler who is now president and CEO for MBUSA.  Chamberlain was previously sales director of passenger cars for Mercedes-Benz UK.

In his new role, Chamberlain will have overall responsibility for the company's sales, volume planning and distribution operations in the United States, reporting directly to Dietmar Exler.

"Adam's broad expertise working with seven brands in three countries, his business acumen and proven retail track record make him a strong asset and brings a fresh perspective to the company moving forward," said Exler.

Chamberlain began his career with Volkswagen AG in 1994 and through 2009 held various key management positions in the retail and sales areas in the UK. In 2009, Chamberlain was promoted to head of sales & marketing for Volkswagen Ireland and three years later became managing director for SEAT, also in Ireland.

Chamberlain joined the Mercedes-Benz organization in March 2013 as sales director, passenger cars (Mercedes-Benz and smart) for Mercedes-Benz UK, his most recent post.  In addition to significant retail and pre-owned growth during his tenure and a strong relationship with the dealer network, Chamberlain also led a cross-functional team to optimize the customer retail experience.

A graduate of Sheffield Hallam University in Sheffield with a B.A. in international business, Chamberlain is married and the father of three.
