Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing Teams Pay Tribute to American Fourth of July Holiday with Patriotic Liveries at Watkins Glen
Two Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing teams are part of this Holiday Weekend’s patriotic salute to the Fourth of July at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race.
Answering the call from IMSA and Watkins Glen to honor the Fourth of July Holiday and the U.S. military at this weekend’s race, both the No. 33 Mercedes-AMG Team Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 and No. 50 WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 are showing some true American spirt for the Watkins Glen race.
This holiday weekend, the No. 33 Mercedes-AMG Team Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 sports an entirely new red, white and blue livery, while the No. 50 WeatherTech car’s familiar paint scheme is being complemented by a full-color American flag on the roof.
With a paint scheme inspired by the American flag, the eye-catching No. 33 Mercedes-AMG GT3 is among the most easily identifiable cars on-track at Watkins Glen International. Full-season drivers Ben Keating, Jeroen Bleekemolen and endurance race teammate Mario Farnbacher will pilot the No. 33 car in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen tomorrow, where they are sure to be fan-favorites.
The American flag on the roof of the No. 50 WeatherTech Racing AMG GT3 complements the familiar WeatherTech Racing livery. Drivers Cooper MacNeil, Gunnar Jeannette and Shane van Gisbergen will look for a season-best endurance race finish in tomorrow’s race.
In addition to racing for a series-leading fourth IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Daytona (GTD) victory for the Mercedes-AMG GT3, both the No. 33 and No. 50 are competing with other IMSA teams this weekend to win a fan-vote contest for the best patriotic livery.

Live television coverage of the Sahlen’s Six Hour Race will begin tomorrow, Sunday, July 2, at 10 a.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and then switch over to FOX Sports 2 (FS2) at 1 p.m. EDT for continuous and non-stop coverage straight to the checkered flag.
